Your weekly foodprint is out!

Once you start using Foodzy you’ll soon realize what products are good for you and which ones aren’t. But to sum it all up, we decided to start sending all of our active users a personalized weekly ‘Foodprint’ via email.

The Foodprint shows you how many bits (calories) you’ve been eating throughout the week, what you’ve been drinking, the amount of good food point you’ve earned and which product categories are responsible for the most bits.

This weekly update will land in your inbox every monday morning, if you’ve checked in at least 5 products over the past week. How’s that for a healthy start of the week? Start checking in today to get yours!

A design studio from Stockholm used tiny chunks of food to create this miniature food landscape. It almost looks like New York city was built out of vegetables. The city never looked this edible!

A History of Food
Did you know we didn’t have coffee until the late 1500’s, risotto was a comfort food for women who had just given birth in the Renaissance, a cow invented the donut and long before the macarena came round, people were dancing the ‘Egg Dance’?
No? Well, as a foodie, you should. So go check out our Facebook timeline, which now holds a little History of Food all the way back to 1000 AC.

How to make Foodzy cupcakes

Didn’t manage to grab one of our Foodzy Cupcakes at The Next Web conference 2 weeks ago? Here’s how to make ‘em at home:

Batter
Oven
Cupcakes
Finishing touches
Mix 500 grams of cupcake flower with 250 grams of butter and 5 eggs. Poor the dough in small cupcake cups and bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes until nice and golden.
After your cupcakes are all cooled down, it’s time to start making the meringue-butter cream that goes on top. Mix 3 egg whites with 150 grams of sugar. Heat au-bain-marie to make sure the sugar melts. Mix for another 10 minutes until your meringue foam is nice and firm.
Now add 300 grams of butter, one small piece at a time. After another 10 minutes, you should have a delicious cream mix. Add colourants for any desired colour. Use a piping bag to put the cream on top of the cupcakes.
Only 3 bits if you make the small ones. ;) Enjoy!
