Believe me, it’s quite amazing when people first start using your service. When we launched Foodzy at The Next Web Conference in 2011, we were thrilled to see so many people signing up and start using our service. And we’re still stoked with all the support and ideas our users give us every day.
Last week when we launched our new mobile apps, we thought we were all set to rock & roll. After weeks of waiting to get our iPhone app approved by Apple, we were so thrilled to just upload our wonderful looking Android app to the Google Play Store to replace the old version.
Over the past year, you’ve helped us realize the great app Foodzy could become. When we started out, we wanted to gamify food tracking with points and badges. Making it real easy to self track the stuff you eat and drink every day. We soon realized once you start doing this, you’ll want more.
A couple of weeks ago we connected Foodzy to Evernote. This way you’re able to automatically save all of your Eatzies to Evernote, and have your personal recipes at hand any time through the Evernote mobile app or any of their other services.
Here at Foodzy we sometimes tend to pick our new stuff release dates a little inconvenient. In the past we have already collided with a certain event from some kind of fruit company, or even a launch into space. Not a good moment to get the buzz going.. ;)

We’re certainly not the only startup with a big passion for food. During a recent chat to Evernote’s Phil Libin he told us he’s a big foodie himself, saving photos of every meal he eats to Evernote. It even resulted in a separate app called Evernote Food.

Because the end of the year is drawing near we thought we’d treat our active Foodzy users to a fun personalized infographic of their food stats in 2011 today. It will show you the amount of candy vs. fruit you had, your total number of pizzas, drinks and lost kilos as well as your favorite product of all time so far. See room for improvement? Well, why don’t you add keeping up with Foodzy to your New Year’s resolutions list then. ;)
